Six Sigma Awareness (1 day)

Aim

The aim of this one day course is to demonstrate the power of Six Sigma, the impact it can have on improving a process, and the role it can (and arguably should) have within a process improvement programme.

This can be tailored to meet organisation’s requirements and is usually used as an introduction to the senior team before rolling Six Sigma out across a wider audience.

Morning Session:

  • Introduction to the 6Sigma philosophy
    • Background and case studies
    • Calculation and benchmarking
    • Benefits: The Cost of Poor Quality
  • The DMAIC process
    • Background and definitions
    • Tools used throughout the process
      • Highlighting:
        • VOC
        • Process Mapping
        • Cause and Effect
        • Pareto Analysis

 Afternoon Session:

  • The Statapult Exercise and tool practice
  • Making the process a success
    • Different roles within a 6Sigma programme of continuous improvement
    • Running a DMAIC improvement project
    • The Project Charter

 Who should attend:

Senior managers, directors and process improvement champions.
