Peter Hales

After gaining his degree, Peter worked in a range of engineering, operational management and commercial roles within the Automotive and White Goods sectors. His responsibilities included process improvement, production management, purchasing strategy, commodity/supplier management and the introduction of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles. Peter gained his Master Black belt credentials working for General Electric in the UK.

As a consultant Peter has successfully managed the Welsh Assembly Government’s Six Sigma programs and Purchasing Insight/Improving Purchasing Performance programs. This involves the training and development of company’s process improvement and supply chain/purchasing strategies to maximize profits.

Recent Projects:

• Program Manager for WAG Purchasing Insight programs – Delivery of WDA Purchasing Insight Purchasing Workshops, On-site support for purchasing, supply chain management & procurement strategies
• Program Manager for WDA & MAS Cymru Six Sigma programs – Delivery of Black Belt & Green Belt training and mentoring support to Welsh Companies. Under the WDA’s Six Sigma Program, 122 projects produced an annual saving of over £13M. Delivery of WDA Master Black Belt Training course.
• Program Manager for MAS West Midlands Purchasing Workshops – Management and Delivery of MAS West Midlands Purchasing Workshops.
• Diagnostic and Strategy Advisor – Delivered consultancy projects from 2-100 days, in Public Sector, Service and Manufacturing companies.
